Eligibility Criteria
Professor
- Qualifications: Ph.D. in the appropriate branch.
- Experience: At least 10 years of post-doctoral experience, with at least 4 years at Associate Professor level or equivalent.
- Age Limit: Preferably below 45 years.
- Pay Level: Level 14A as per 7th CPC.
Associate Professor
- Qualifications: Ph.D. in the appropriate branch.
- Experience: At least 6 years of post-doctoral experience, with at least 3 years at Assistant Professor level or equivalent.
- Age Limit: Preferably below 45 years.
- Pay Level: Level 13A2 as per 7th CPC.
Assistant Professor Grade I
- Qualifications: Ph.D. in the appropriate branch, with first-class at preceding degree.
- Experience: At least 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience.
- Age Limit: Preferably below 35 years.
- Pay Level: Level 12, moving to Level 13A1 after 3 years.
Assistant Professor Grade II
- Qualifications: Ph.D. in the appropriate branch, with first-class at preceding degree.
- Experience: Fresh Ph.D. holders with less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience.
- Age Limit: Preferably below 35 years.
- Pay Level: Level 10, with progression to Level 11 after 1 year.

- Submit a forwarding letter addressed to the Director, ISI, Kolkata, along with the following documents:
- Filled Application Form (Annexure I).
- Curriculum Vitae with a list of publications.
- Proposed research and teaching plans.
- Caste and/or PwBD Certificate (if applicable).
- Reprints of up to five important publications.
- All documents must be combined into a single PDF file and emailed to faculty_application@isical.ac.in. A copy must be sent to the Professor-in-Charge/Head of the relevant division as per the table below.
