Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2018, Indian Air Force has recently invited applications for the recruitment of Commissioned Officer through Air Force Common Admission Online Test (AFCAT) – 01/2018. Courses Commencing in July 2019 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying & Permanent Commission (PC)/ Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches. Candidates who’s age is not more than as specified in AFCAT 2018 jobs notification and having qualification of Graduation, BE/ B.Tech/ PG Degree in any Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology from the University/ Institute recognized by the Government of India are eligible to apply for the post.

About: Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT)
Air Force Common Aptitude Test is conducts twice in year ie, in the months of June and December. Through AFCAT, candidates are recruited at various posts in Air Force. AFCAT is only one of the steps involved in the entire selection process for getting selected as an officer in the IAF. On clearing the AFCAT, shortlisted candidates will be called for Services Selection Board for Testing.

Candidates are advised to go through the official notification carefully before filling the AFCAT online Application Form. Eligible candidates (both Male & Female) may apply for online Air Force Common Admission Test.

Educational Qualification:

Maths & Physics at 10+2 level, Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or BE/ B.Tech from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks or equivalent, Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent (Final year students are also eligible to apply) for Flying branches, PG Degree in any science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (provided Maths & Physics were studied at Graduation level with minimum of 55% marks in both) for Ground Duty (Meteorology branch).

Age Limit:

As on 01/01/2019

  1. Flying Branch – 20 to 24 years (i.e Born between 02/01/1995 to 01/01/1999 both dates inclusive)
  2. Ground Duty Officer (Technical/ Non Technical Branch) – 20 to 26 years (i.e Born between 02/01/1993 to 01/01/1999 both dates inclusive)

Selection Procedure:

Candidates have to appear for Physical Standards/ Medical Standards/ Written Test and/or Interview.

AFCAT Entry – Rs 250/-

Meteorology Entry & NCC Special Entry – No Fee

AFCAT 2018 – Syllabus & Example of Questions

The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.

  • General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.
  • Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.
  • Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.
  • Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.

AFCAT 2018 – Admit Card Download

Once Admit card & Identity card is generated by AFCAT Cell, candidates have to log on to our website Go to the link CANDIDATE LOGIN and enter your “user id” and “password”. Click on the option GENERATE ADMIT CARD.

AFCAT 2018 – Result

AFCAT 2018 Result when declared will be uploaded on the official website of Indian Air force Candidate to visit the website regularly.
